Cedric was a four year letterman for the University of North Alabama and became the first UNA baseball player to reach the major leagues. He played 10 years professionally of which two were in the major leagues, one with the Chicago Cubs and the other with the New York Mets. He was a hitting coach with the Baltimore Orioles for 6 years. Cedric was inducted into the University of North Alabama Hall of Fame in 1997 and into the Marengo County Alabama Hall of fame in 2021. He currently coaches at Fort Worth Country Day School and for the Dallas Tigers West.
